When science encounters a new theory that purports to explain what an old one did and more, it uses Occam’s razor to choose between them and examines the assumptions of both, to find any flaws. A paradigm shift that changes theoretical foundations is always difficult to introduce but the biggest obstacle facing any new theory is the delusion of omniscience, the belief that we already have all the answers.
