QR4.8 The Evolving Universe

If matter always was, and our universe began at a point as big bang theory says, it would have immediately collapsed into a black hole by the laws of physics, but it didn’t. And in a clockwork universe, we are cogs in the machine, but a clock must be built, and cramming all its bits into a point that expands is an odd way to do that. In contrast, a universe that began as a speck of light wouldn’t collapse but expand, as ours did. This section explores the option that our universe is evolving, like a seed whose potential unfolds, not a machine that always was, or was built by someone or something.
